Winter Open 2027

Welcome to Winter Open, 13-14 February 2027, at Drammenshallen.

Winter Open is one of Norway’s largest cheerleading competitions and brings together athletes from across the country each year, as well as teams from Sweden and Denmark. The competition includes Cheerleading, Pom and Hip Hop, and spectators can watch athletes of all levels compete throughout the weekend.

In 2027, Winter Open is also a qualifying competition for the European Championships, making the event an important meeting place for Norwegian clubs and athletes.

Over two days, Drammenshallen will be filled with exciting competition, outstanding performances and an enthusiastic audience. We look forward to welcoming athletes, support staff and visitors to an eventful competition weekend in Drammen.

Drammenshallen opens at 07:30 for accredited participants and staff.

• Youth and Junior Cheerleading, as well as the Open Division, will compete on Saturday. NOTE: The Open Division has been moved from Sunday to Saturday.
• Senior Cheerleading and all Performance Cheer categories will compete on Sunday.

Categories

NOTE: In categories with fewer than three registered teams, All Girl and Coed divisions at the same level may be combined in certain age categories and levels.

Peewee exhibition

Each team is allocated 2.5 minutes for its exhibition. There is no limit on the number of teams per club. If you want your exhibition teams to perform consecutively, please let us know. Add a comment in the registration form stating your preferred day, and we will accommodate this as far as possible.

Rules and guidelines

Norwegian clubs must be members of the Norwegian Federation of American Sports (NAIF) and must have paid their membership fee in order to participate in official NAIF competitions.

Competition rules

The competition will follow the current ICU competition rules. The rules are available on the NAIF website. Any Norwegian adaptations are listed in the Cheer Section Regulations.

NAIF encourages all coaches to read the rules very carefully and submit any questions before the competition. Questions about the competition rules should be sent to the federation’s rules committee by email: rules@naifcheer.no.

National sports regulations

This event is governed by the regulations of the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) and the Norwegian Federation of American Sports. This also includes NIF’s anti-doping regulations.

A case concerning a possible breach of the sports regulations will be handled by NIF’s judicial bodies. Cases concerning breaches of the anti-doping regulations may ultimately be decided by the Norwegian Sports Arbitration Court. Breaches may result in sanctions, including exclusion from all sporting activity under NIF, including the Norwegian Federation of American Sports. For more information, see NIF legal information.

By registering, clubs acknowledge that they have read and understood the conditions of participation and accept them.

Anti-doping

All athletes are required to familiarise themselves with the doping regulations established by Anti-Doping Norway. If you are unsure whether any medication you use is on the prohibited list, we recommend checking it using the medication search.

Licence

All competing athletes from Norwegian clubs must hold a valid, paid NAIF licence. Teams with unlicensed athletes will be penalised in accordance with the sanctions regulations.

Clubs are responsible for ensuring that their athletes hold valid licences. Questions concerning licence registration may be sent to NAIF by email: naif@amerikanskeidretter.no.

Accreditation

Each athlete must line up in alphabetical order by surname and state their full name upon arrival at accreditation. They will then proceed to the piercing and jewellery check. They do NOT need to bring identification.

When registering, all clubs must confirm that the registered athletes are the athletes who will compete on the mat and that they have paid their athlete licence fee.

NOTE: Orders for athlete meals and T-shirts can be changed until 24 January.

Please also enter the club’s invoicing information in the same form used to order T-shirts and athlete meals.

Final deadline for participant changes: 24 January 2027

Registering participants after the registration deadline will incur an additional fee of NOK 100 per participant. This also applies to name changes and similar amendments.

We ask all clubs to observe the deadlines.

Competition fees

Competition participant: NOK 425 per participant. This includes a T-shirt.

Exhibition participant: NOK 275 per participant. The price includes a participation award and a T-shirt.

Team fees

Competition team: NOK 900 per team

Group Stunt/Partner Stunt/Doubles: NOK 400 per team

Exhibition team: NOK 900 per team

Optional lunch for participants

We offer an optional lunch for participants. We can accommodate gluten-free and vegetarian preferences, and all dishes will be nut-free. Participants with other allergies should bring their own food to the event. Lunch costs NOK 75 per participant in addition to the participant fee.

Additional information

Music

All participating teams/groups are responsible for bringing their music on a mobile phone. Remember to put the phone in flight mode. Please also bring a backup in case anything happens during playback.

The person responsible for the music must be accredited and report to the music desk two performances before their scheduled time on the mat.

Train

Drammen Station is a major railway hub served by both Vy and the Airport Express Train. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station to Drammenshallen. Exit through the main entrance on the Strømsø side, cross Strømsø Square and follow the footpath towards Drammensbadet. Drammenshallen is next to Drammensbadet.

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Drammen Station or the bus terminal.

Bus

Several bus routes stop near Drammenshallen. Current timetable information is available from Brakar and Entur.

Car

Drammenshallen is centrally located in Strømsø with easy access from the E18. Follow signs towards the town centre and Drammensbadet/Drammenshallen.

Parking

Parking at Drammenshallen is limited, and parking fees should be expected. Further information about parking options will be published on the event website and sent to participants before the competition.

Due to limited capacity, visitors are encouraged to use public transport where possible.

If you are arriving by bus and need to park it for the weekend, reach out to us for assistance.

Ticket prices for spectators

Admission prices:

Family ticket (2 adults & 2 children): NOK 400 per day

Companions with a valid companion certificate do not pay for admission

Card payment/Vipps is available at both the ticket office and the kiosk/cafeteria, and cash is also accepted.

Stands and food sales

There will be various stands selling clothing, shoes and similar items at the event. More information about the exhibitors is available at www.winteropen.no.

Food and drinks will be sold both inside the hall and in the cafeteria by the entrance. Items available will include soft drinks, pizza slices, sushi, toast, cakes and more.
